The bathroom was well outfitted with shockingly high end fixtures (think Toto commode and Grohe faucet and shower fixtures!!) There was also a great kitchenette with larger refrigerator. The sitting area had a comfy couch for lounging. I loved the curtain divider that easily separated the sleeping area from a sitting area.

Well what a stroke of luck that I had to have a rental car since my hotel was “far away”, because Madison in November is cold, People! I quickly discovered that I wouldn’t want to walk anyway! I could hop in my nice warm rental car and zip around in toasty comfort.īut that aside, the Home2 Suites was a hidden delight. I was a little salty that I wouldn’t be physically close to my daughter’s dorm and wouldn’t be able to walk to and from our hotel, like I was able to do in August when we did stay at a campus hotel. So I grudgingly booked the Home 2 Suites, 3 miles and a car ride away from campus. If you’re lucky enough to get a room at one of the “campus hotels” on a football weekend, you’ll be paying $500/ night. I feel so lucky that we accidentally discovered this hotel because we were closed out of the hotels on campus during a busy football weekend. In November, it’s cold, football crazy, beer and brats for warmth, partyville! Madison is two vastly different cities in August and November! In August, it’s hip, lake vibe cool. I’m a freshman parent and this was only my second visit to Madison.
